Dr. Lauren Edwards
My practice is my passion.
I am very lucky to pursue a career I love and an environment I find as a second home. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Communications from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. At the age of 21, entering into my senior year at college I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma Cancer. My world definitely halted and my perspective on life shifted. I underwent several surgeries to remove the cancer, as well as malignant lymph nodes. I was instructed to proceed treatment with a drug called Interferon, which would mandate hospitalization at least once a month for five years to receive treatment. I was blessed to meet an individual at the time who had self healed from Pancreatic Cancer by using nutrition, supplements and every holistic treatment imaginable. I followed his directive. I felt that the cancer was surgically removed from my body and decided to give a 3 months trial to try a non invasive way to treat it.
After careful watch, a stringent lifestyle and a whole new concept on health, I continued to clear PET scans. Not everyone is as lucky as I was. However I took that grace and turned it into my life passion. I tried to work in the Pharmaceutical Industry, but was missing what I genuinely had found as my passion. Oriental Medicine is a scientifically based practice that shows how when given the tools, the body can heal itself. After an additional four years of schooling and four Board Exams later, I am thankful to say I can practice what I preach and do what I love. My practice is not a job, but a way of life and a wonderful way to share the bits of holistic healing with others.
